Penning Pathways

"Connections across generations"

ABOUT PENNING PATHWAYS

Penning Pathways is an organization aiming to combat elder loneliness and connect

past and future generations using pen-pals.

We use digital messaging and face-to-face interactions to create deeper connections

between students in high school and elderly people in nursing homes.

For instructions on how to make an account, visit the Guidelines page!

About Penning Pathways

Why are we different than other pen-pal organizations?
There are two big problems with other organizations:
A. only physical letters can be sent and B. pen-pals can't meet with each other in-person.

Unlike other organizations, we use digital messaging and face-to-face interactions to create deeper connections between students in high school and elderly people in nursing homes.
How do I become a pen-pal?
To become a pen-pal, create an account!

Students browse the profiles of elders registered in our roster and look for people they have similar interests as. Then, they just have to send them a message through WhatsApp! Check out the Guidelines and Chat pages.

Please also note that you can only become a pen-pal if your school is registered in our system. If your school is registered, you will need to use your school-provided email to create an account.
What are the different writing options?
You can message your elder pen-pal through digital messaging using WhatsApp, or you can send physical letters to your pen-pal. Choose what you're comfortable with. For more information on how that works, check out the Chat page (but keep in mind that you must create an account first)!
How do I register my school?
If you're interested in your school joining, send us a request in the "Contact Us" section at the bottom of the homepage.
