Hi! My name is Ayana, and I'm the
founder of Penning Pathways.
The reason why I created this
organization starts with my
grandparents.

My grandmother was a smart,
hardworking, and caring woman who loved
to make friends and do arts and crafts.
I loved when we would go on little walks in
the mornings and the beautifully
crafted breakfasts she would make for
me afterwards.
My grandfather was a quiet but loving
man. He was a retired teacher and
principal, and worked hard to make sure
his children got a good education.
We would always sit next to each other,
reading our separate books or talking
about my crazy and hilarious dreams.

My grandmother, unfortunately, passed away, and my grandfather grew
extremely lonely, and his condition worsened during COVID lockdown.
He passed away soon after.
It bothers me that I'm not able to talk to them anymore
and that my grandfather had to be so lonely.
Penning Pathways is more than just combating elder
loneliness; it's connecting past and future generations, creating an
accessible way for people to learn from each other and build more
personal relationships.
